The Acton Library provides educational programs for all ages. Our events are free and open to the public. Some programs have age recommendations. Please look at the event calendar to see if you need to register for a seat.

 This program will be held using Zoom. Come explore your family roots! Meet with other patrons who are gathering information about their family trees and learn about the research databases that are available to you here at the library, including Ancestry Library Edition and FamilySearch. Meetings are on the 4th Thursdays each month with the library's cataloger, Donna Tappin. Whether you are a beginner or have been researching for years, here is an opportunity to 'tune-up' your current research skills or learn something new about family history research.  Free and open to all.  Registration is required and is available one month prior to the event. Meet with a tech savvy librarian for a 20-minute one-on-one session to discuss your technology needs. Appointments are available on Thursdays betweent 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM.  This event is rescheduled from April 15. This month we will discuss Tightrope: Americans Reaching for Hope by Nicholas D. Kristof with Sheryl WuDunn. We will be joined by Elijah Manning from Inclusive Education LLC who will help facilitate a lively and thoughtful conversation. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the library! We will make a Zoom link if people want to participate that way.     Join local OSHS student, Marcus S. as he kindles his passion for trains in the hearts of area tweens for his Capstone project. A chance to learn, interact and play. All ages are welcome but the focus is on bringing ages 8-14 and their families in to learn about and celebrate Trains The lineup includes some great guests invited to share. This session will run from April 15 - May 20. This child-focused playgroup is for young children and their caregivers. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with others, make new friends, and learn by playing in a literacy-enriched environment.
